Sweet Claudette: Calendar

Had a fantastic time. Folk were blues lovers who loved to dance.

An over capacity, seam splitting, wall expanding crowd for all 3 segments at this one for Carrigan Arms, Burlington, Ontario Canada. James Anthony's (James-master guitarist, bassman-Uli, Gordi on drums, master keyboardist, John & the lip man - Pete on sax) showed their natural behinds and took the music to the next level. Greg got a chance to sit in for a few. It was done with such controlled volume and dyanamics that 'you could indeed hear a rat piss on cotton' at times. The audience was 'on their game' and boogied with us. AND of course, I got a chance to do one or 2 of my corny jokes before all was said and done.

If a musician wants their hearts to feel warm and fuzzy after a show, this is the place to be. We were told by several staff and many patients that our music uplifted their spirits and welcome us back. Todd, Greg and I plan to set up 2 -3 more of these. We did this one as an acoustic show set back in an alcove where the path to several patient waiting rooms came together. It's a pleasure to be a part of this program.

While Sweet Claudette & Friends did not come away with top honors, we are proud of our performance and accomplishments. The band was at it's best during the show. Thanks for all of your support.

This one was one of our favorites for several years ... this year we got some of our younger fans to come on stage with us to step it off with Sweet Claudette & Friends. WOW!!! Did those kids have a lot of energy, but Sweet C hung right in there with them and managed to get the steps right. hahahaha

This event was a rousing success. Detroit's finest came out to help a fellow musician out.

We took some friends and relative from Detroit to Toledo on a Limo Shuttle. Music Suite owner Eddie, Miz Lucille and Cindy hooked up the food and Eric Brazier lent us an underlayment of jazz riffs. Our audience shared some easy going conversation. Folk there joined us as the bit off a couple of verses of songs with Sweet Claludette. The band was sizzling hot and brought it ... the crowd was a cross section of Sweet Claudette's established 6 year friendship / relationship with the Toledo folk in addition to some family and friends from Chicago, California, Canada, Detroit & Monroe, MI, & Atlanta. My kind of party. Can't wait for next time.

The Chris Canas Blues Revolution band set tone for this festival. They were awesome. My bandmates upped the ante just a smidgen with crowd pleasing jazz instrumentals, rock, funky blues and an oldie My Guy (My Girl). We performed songs that were recorded live at Margie's Max Dugans. Paul Cervenak, Greg & Mark were at the TOP of their music game here. Blues, oldies & classic rock. Those wine sippers kinda got loose dancing to the music ... know what I mean.

It's been a fun summer and this was a first for us. We were on and off early, but had a great turn out and a very appreciative audience.

This is Sweet Claudette's 5th year here. The fresh fish sandwiches / dinner's are delicious. 2 buildings of first-rate antiques.

OMG!! The response & attendance at this years festival was overwhelming. As always the babies and us oldsters were out on theportable dance floor cutting a rug. Sweet Claudette's, an obvious crowd favorite, has been booked back for 2007. That will be Sweet Claudette's 7th year doing this one. Check late June '07 for actual date.

Although this night is going great, we all missed seeing you there. Stop on by.

What a joy it was to meet Honeyboy Edwards. He's a very quiet spoken, gentle man. Willie King spotlighted his 'kids' from the Blues Camp. Caleb & the Old Memphis Kings represented some of the youth on stage that day. 'Shar-Baby' heard about this festival. She stopped by Friday nite and sat in. Willie King invited Shar-Baby back to sit in on Saturday with the Women of the Blues. It ws worth the wait to meet another sister of the blues. Folk come from hundreds of miles away for this festival.

The night was off the hook with music of Sweet Claudette & the Rythmatics Band. Birthday lady Lisa Blades did all the cooking. Food was delish. Many family and friends showed to support and party, of course. Spider and Toni, his beautiful bride of many years. Emtertainers who showed were: former band mates the blues legend drummer, Duke Dawson & his longtime bride Ms. Ruby, 'Guitar Gary', along with Bassist, Lucius Wilson and his bride Kim, Bassist Darryl Lee, Dr. CeeCee and his lady, Bonnie, and my longtime musical brother Chris Turner. All of my neices & nephews on the Blades side of the family were on hand to celebrate with the other 2 B'day folk, Mr. Andrew Harrell & John 'the bartender'. We did the Grand Opening last year ... You gotta get there early .... it gets a great lively crowd even before the band comes in ... Don't forget to tip the bartenders Brenda & Linda. My 'sister-heart' Margie had one hellava bash, wasn't even standing room for quite a while. Margie and I must have met in the last 3 lifetimes somewhere. The Rythmatics were at the top of their game that night. AWESOME!!! Could have made a great tape.
